| District Area: |
Our district covers South and East Sussex, Surrey, Kent and greater London.
This includes the City of Canterbury and Rochester and big towns like Maidstone,
Gravesend, Eastboune, and Brighton.
|
| District Information: |
The district has seen a lot of changes over the last couple of years and has
recently reached a fairly stable structure with plenty of moots and events to keep
us busy all year round. The South East is a very lively part of the country with a
very diverse cross section of the pagan community. Kent was one of the first Saxon
settlements so the area is filled with history around every corner. For those
interested in architecture, there is Canterbury and Rochester Cathedrals. The
District is filled to the brim with castles and ancient sites including Hever and
Leeds Castle near Maidstone as well as Rochester Castle. Maidstone is the County
town of Kent with its historical markets still running to this day. Brighton and
Eastbourne are famous coastal towns with a very active Pagan scene popular with
all age groups.

| District Events: |
The Jack in the Green Festival at Hastings, held every year on the May Bank
Holiday weekend. This extraviganza started life as a morris festival, but you
would go a long way to find anything with its roots more deeply set in Pagan
traditions, from the crowning of the May Queen to the slaughter of the 'Jack'.
A fabulous day out for all the family
The Sweeps festival which runs over the whole of the 1st May bank holiday
in Rochester where you can see dozens of morris troops as well as the Green Man
and May Queen!
The Green Fair usually takes place on the second bank holiday Monday in Mote
Park, Maidstone and has 2 or 3 live music stages, stalls from local shops and
lots of organic food stalls to try, it is a charity event for
green/environmental organisations.
